We work on catalysis which has far reaching implications for advanced materials and manufacturing. For example, catalysts are required to make ammonia as a fertilizer, are necessary to manufacture plastics in textiles and as automotive parts,  and are required to produce petrochemicals, agrochemicals and pharmaceutical products in an economically viable fashion. The production of most every manufactured consumer good involves catalysis at some point.
